Tales
from the Building Site

What stages mark the complex journey of realizing a project, where architects, contractors, and clients come together in a dialogue with a common goal?

The construction site reveals itself as a living organism. Each building is a unique creation, with its own characteristics, flaws, and strengths, giving each project its own identity. It is a gradual and intricate process, unfolding between beauty and challenges, unforeseen obstacles to overcome, and course corrections to make. In this vibrant and pulsating phase, the construction site exudes the penetrating smell of fresh paint, wood, and dust. It is a delicate moment where architects, contractors, and clients build a bond of trust and cohesion. Every single step takes on extraordinary value in terms of experience and growth.

Yet, while the actors on stage work tirelessly to bring the project to completion, the client often remains in the shadows, unaware of the complexities involved. However, they continue to dream of the final result: the delivery of the keys to a new reality.

For Open! Studi Aperti 2024, the Sebastiano Canzano Architects Studio opens its doors, inviting visitors to a sensory experience that tells the story of the various stages of the construction site. From the workers' hands marked by labor to the smiles of satisfaction, the journey is long, complex, and fascinating. Photos and videos of the construction site, project boards smudged with work, materials, and tools bring to life the reconstruction of the sometimes critical stages of this process.
